ARCH ORGANIZES MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AT GRACELAND NEEDY AND CHILDCARE SHELTER

Kasoa- Bawjiase, Ghana – April 4, 2026

The Arise Center for Holistic Health, Wellness and Nutrition (ARCH) successfully organized a Mental Health Awareness Workshop for children at Graceland on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting mental wellness among young people.
The workshop brought together children aged 10-16 to learn about the importance of mental health, emotional well-being, and healthy coping mechanisms. Through interactive discussions, educational activities, storytelling, and practical exercises, participants were introduced to
concepts that help them understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Facilitators emphasized that mental health is just as important as physical health and encouraged the children to express their feelings openly, seek support when needed, and develop positive habits that promote emotional resilience. The sessions were designed to create a safe and
engaging environment where children could ask questions, share experiences, and learn valuable life skills.

Speaking during the workshop, representatives of ARCH highlighted the need to nurture children’s mental well-being from an early age, noting that building emotional intelligence and resilience can contribute significantly to their overall development and future success. The children actively participated in the activities and demonstrated a keen interest in learning more about self-awareness, positive thinking, stress management, and healthy relationships.

Parents and guardians also commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in helping children navigate the challenges of growing up in today’s world.
The Youth You are Heard, and You Matter (YYHYM) Initiative forms part of ARCH’s broader efforts to advance holistic health and wellness within communities. The organization remains
committed to creating opportunities that empower children and young people with the knowledge and tools necessary to maintain good mental health.

As mental health continues to gain global attention, initiatives such as this workshop play a critical role in breaking stigma, promoting awareness, and fostering healthier communities for future generations. Speaking with the team, the leadership of Graceland expressed profound appreciation for the impactful work carried out by ARCH. She noted that the workshop had been eye-opening, highlighting how bullying and other negative behaviors commonly experienced by young people can significantly affect their mental health and overall well-being. She further assured the ARCH team of her commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment, emphasizing that she would do her utmost to maintain a mentally healthy Care Home where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.
