The Arise Center for Holistic Health, Wellness and Nutrition (ARCH) organized a malaria screening exercise for children at Graceland on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and improving the well-being of vulnerable
children. The screening exercise formed part of ARCH’s holistic health outreach initiatives aimed at ensuring early detection and management of malaria, one of the leading causes of illness among children in Ghana. A total of 19 children were screened during the exercise, providing an opportunity for participants to undergo basic health assessments and malaria testing in a safe and supportive environment.
The screening revealed two positive malaria cases, underscoring the importance of routine health screenings and early diagnosis in preventing complications associated with the disease. Appropriate recommendations were provided to ensure that the affected children received the necessary medical attention and treatment at the earliest convenience. Health professionals and volunteers from ARCH also educated the children and caregivers on the
causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of malaria. Emphasis was placed on the importance of early testing, prompt treatment, proper environmental sanitation, and the consistent use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets to reduce the risk of infection.
The team encouraged the children to adopt healthy hygiene practices and to promptly report symptoms such as fever, headaches, body pains, and fatigue to caregivers or health professionals for immediate attention. Speaking after the exercise, the leadership of Graceland expressed sincere appreciation to ARCH for bringing the health screening services directly to the facility. They noted that such interventions are essential in safeguarding the health of the children and raising awareness about preventive healthcare practices.
The malaria screening exercise reflects ARCH’s ongoing dedication to promoting holistic health and wellness within communities. Through education, screening, and preventive interventions, the organization continues to contribute to the fight against malaria while ensuring that children have access to essential health services. ARCH remains committed to partnering with institutions and communities to improve health
outcomes and build healthier futures for children across Ghana.
